About MyUse

The MyUSE App

MyUSE is a web-based prevention, education, and behaviour change tool for higher education students. It helps students reflect on their substance experiences, supports mindful decision-making, and encourages practical harm reduction in a non-judgemental way. It is designed to be useful whether you have never used drugs, have used before, or use currently.

  • MyUSE adapts to your experience, whether you currently use drugs, used in the past, or have never used.
  • Your journey starts with a short set of questions, then the app responds dynamically to your answers with tailored guidance.
  • You will see relevant harm reduction information, skill-building activities, practical strategies, and signposting to support.
  • It also promotes alternatives to drug-use activities and supports overall student wellbeing.

Our Vision

MyUSE aims to be the go-to, evidence-based digital support and harm-reduction tool for students in Ireland.

Our Mission

MyUSE provides confidential, always-on digital support for students to explore their substance use experiences. Through tailored content and practical harm-reduction guidance, MyUSE supports students whether they have no experience, some experience, or a lot of experience with drug use.

Our Values

  • Privacy and security.
  • Equality of access and support.
  • Evidence-based and student-centred.
  • Non-judgemental and supportive.

Our Funders

MyUse is funded under the umbrella of the ESHIELD project. ESHIELD is a multi-component initiative that combines digital innovation, behavioural science, and institutional policy reform to reduce drug-related harms in Higher Education Institutions across Ireland.

We also want to acknowledge the support and input of the HSE Social Inclusion Unit and the Cork Local Drugs and Alcohol Task Force , whose work has informed and supported the development of MyUse.
